Training Program Launches at Virginia's First Solar+Storage Community Resiliency Hub
UPAL featured in Clean Energy Group Resilient Power Newsletter (August 2022)
United Parents Against Lead & Other Environmental Hazards (UPAL), a national nonprofit networking organization of and for parents of lead poisoned children, is welcoming its first cohort of solar installer trainees. The cohort will participate in the installation of solar panels at a historic USO facility in Petersburg, Virginia that is being converted into a community training center and solar+storage resiliency hub. UPAL is committed to providing training and certifications to community members, allowing students to “enter this course as an absolute beginner and leave with basic and advanced knowledge needed to stand out as a PV professional.” CEG provided a Technical Assistance Fund award to support an initial solar+storage assessment for the site and awarded UPAL a Resilient Power Leadership Initiative grant to help advance the community training program.
